White Rock Theatre

The original East Sussex Hospital was replaced by the White Rock Pavilion, a beautifully designed theatre which was officially opened in April 1927 by Edward, Prince of Wales. In 1937 it underwent a further re-modification to change it to the Theatre style venue it is today.

The Pavilion was refurbished again in 1985 and renamed the White Rock Theatre. It is currently operated by HQ Theatres, a Qdos Entertainment Company, on behalf of Hastings Borough Council.

The White Rock Theatre aims to bring the best in live entertainment to Hastings, This season includes the spine chilling The Woman in Black and the captivating and moving Blood Brothers, alongside top comedy from Julian Clary, Rhod Gilbert and Jimmy Carr. Music lovers can enjoy Jools Holland and his Rhythm and blues Orchestra and Opera and Dance is well represented with Swan Lake and The Sorcerer, A host of family entertainment is available from The Chuckle Brothers to Cbeebies Chris Jarvis & Pui. With a wide selection of plays and musicals the White Rock offers something for everyone.

The White Rock theatre also offers theatergoers the opportunity to dine pre- show at the newly refurbished Pavilion Café or to simply enjoy a light snack and coffee.
